EXPERIENCE
Education
By 1977 I’d received a Associates Degree in Engineering from BYU Idaho and a BS Degree in Building Construction Management from Brigham Young University.
Military Service
By 1979 I’d also completed Army ROTC course studies at BYU, Army Basic Training at Ft Knox Kentucky, Army Advance Camp & AOT at Ft Lewis Tacoma, Washington, and Officer’s Basic Course at Ft Belvoir Alexandria, Virginia
By 1983 I’d served for 6 years as a commissioned officer in the Utah Army National Guard / Corps of Engineers. Our unit, the 116th CSE, was tasked with all types of excavation and horizontal construction projects from constructing roadways, rock crushing operations, building earthen damns, construction of ammunition storage facilities and more.
Building Experience
I’ve been a Licensed General Contractor in the state of Utah since 1977 and currently hold R100 & E100 classification licenses.
I’ve also been a Licensed General Contractor in the state of Arizona and built homes & light commercial projects in the states of Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Missouri, New York & New Jersey.
Over the past 46 years I’ve built in excess of 2,000 residential units ranging from starter homes, condos, apartment bldgs, student housing complexes and up to & including $3-4 million custom homes.
I’ve constructed numerous commercial projects: gas station / convenience stores, commercial tenant finishes, warehouses, 400 Enlisted housing units on an Air Force Base in Illinois, 360 condo units in Upstate NY, installation of all underground utilities & surface improvements on many of these jobs.
In addition New Construction I’ve also completed a large number & variety of Home Additions, Remodels, Renovations, Basement and Commercial Tenant finishes.
In the early 1980's I obtained an American Steel Buildings dealership. These are the large “red iron” type warehouse buildings. We sold & built a variety of sizes of these metal buildings.
Starting in 2005 we also got into erecting Barn Master & Choice prefabricated steel horse barns & horse training facilities in Utah & Colorado. By 2011 we’d finished more than 20 of these horse barns in sizes from 30' x 36' (6) stalls up to 80' x 100' (28) stalls.
In 2020 I became an Official dealer for Dreams Carports & Metal Buildings. I chose to sell their metal buildings because they had a product that was superior to all the other metal buildings available. By the end of 2023 I sold over 200 of their structures to very happy satisfied customers rarely having any issues. Most of these individuals share the same feeling “why didn’t I do this sooner”.
